Volunteering

We are currently looking for volunteers to fill a variety of behind-the-scenes positions. Some of them are listed below. If you and/or a friend would be interested in helping us out in any of these areas, we'd be delighted to welcome you aboard. All positions can be shared. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Open Positions:

Interpreter - Sign up to be called if we need an interpreter for a client appointment. Please indicate in the details box what language you can help with.

Store Volunteer - How about working a regularly scheduled shift at the store? Please include the days of the week and the times you are available to work under the "any other thoughts" section below. We schedule one week out; please schedule ahead. We are now seeking regular volunteers for the following shifts:

Wed. 5-7 p.m.
Sat. 12:30-3 p.m.
Sat. 3-5 p.m.
Sun. 12-2 p.m.
Sun. 2-4 p.m.

Transportation Volunteer - Sign up for a Saturday starting at 10 a.m. and ending between noon and 2:00 p.m. Duties include going out with a team (including an adult "team leader") and picking up donations and/or dropping off deliveries of furniture. Having your own car or driver's license is not necessary.

Events Committee: assist in planning special store events.

Fundraisers: Host or plan a fundraiser. This can be a small gathering or a big blow out. You let us know what you have in mind and we'll help you every step of the way.

Church Liaison: help get the word out to your church community in whatever way you feel works best at your church. We'll send you an email with what we'd like your congregation to know and you can forward the information in whatever way you feel best (church bulletin, study groups, youth groups, etc). Please let us know what church you are volunteering for in the "any other thoughts" section below.

Community Group Liaison: Be our liaison to a group you are already a member of. Help get the word out to your organization. This job can be a big or as small as you make it. We would love to have a way to communicate with local clubs (book clubs, bunko, garden, mom's groups, red hat, birthday, dinner, neighborhood associations and the like) and service organizations (Rotary, Lions, Optimists, etc.). Please specify what group in the "any other thoughts" section below. We'll send you an email with what we'd like you to tell them and you can forward the email or mention it at your next meeting.
