Other things we need (and you can do)!

  • Donate some office supplies. We need the same boring stuff every office needs: post-its, staplers, tape (all kinds), envelopes, stamps (!!), pens and pencils, batteries, cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, etc.

  • Bring in some drinks or treats for our volunteers. The last few weeks have shown us that they're a thirsty bunch. While you're shopping, pick up an extra whatever for the PROP Shop break room.

  • Bring a bag of laundry home. Bags are pre-sorted into darks and whites. We usually are not in a rush to get the items back, but they take up needed space. Just ask us at the volunteer desk.

  • Bring the PROP Shop a green plant. Root and pot philodendron cuttings so we can have easy-to-care-for green plants in the shop. We have lots of great sunlight!

  • Make a run to Goodwill. Or if another charitable organization is picking up at your home, call us to see if there are some bags waiting at the shop to be donated elsewhere. These bags of items we can't use take up a lot of space. If you can help by making them go away, we'd have more area to move in our back room.

  • Save your paper grocery bags, and the clean, dry plastic ones. We use them in our clients' Bargain Room and at the cash wrap. Please call before dropping them off to make sure we have room to store them.

  • Save plastic swivel-hook hangers you come across. We use them in all clothing departments. Ask where you shop if they have any extras - some stores just throw them out.

  • Distribute brochures. Pass out PROP Shop brochures and business cards at work, church, book club, bunko, neighborhood groups, etc. If you're hosting an event, we'd be delighted to supply you with brochures to set out.

  • Get friendly with your dry cleaner. Does s/he have clothes in storage that haven't been picked up? We'd be happy to get the donation. We can also use long plastic bags used to wrap formal gowns.

  • Be our social secretary. Book the PROP Shop traveling informational road show to come to your group's next meeting. We can make it as short as you'd like.

  • Organize a small (or large) fundraiser. We have a ton of ideas and will help you every step of the way.

  • Share information about our website and email list. Encourage folks to sign up for the latest news.
